Will this challan be waived in the Lok Adalat or not?
Traffic challans are not waived in Lok Adalat. But your challan can be cancelled or its fine can be reduced. Challans issued for violation of basic traffic rules can be waived or reduced in Lok Adalat. This includes challans issued for seat belt, breaking red light, driving in the wrong lane or challan issued for not wearing helmet.

Things to keep in mind

But keep one thing in mind that the case will be settled in the Lok Adalat of the place where your challan was issued. Some documents are also necessary for this. In which it is necessary to carry a copy of the challan, vehicle documents and identity card. Reach the Lok Adalat at least 30 minutes before the scheduled time. Otherwise your challan will not even be heard.

f you live in Noida or Gurugram but your challan has been issued in Delhi, then you will have to go to the Lok Adalat of Delhi for the hearing of the challan. The challans of Delhi are not heard in the Lok Adalat of Gurugram or Noida.

Process of online registration
For this, first go to the official website of National Legal Service Authority (NALSA) nalsa.gov.in. Click on Apply Legal Aid. Fill the request form. Fill all the details asked in it and upload the documents. After this, submit the form. Token number and appointment letter will come on your mail. Reach the Lok Adalat at the scheduled time with token number, appointment letter and necessary documents.
